Product Description

SiMR-1912C is a reaction product of silicone resin with silicone fluids, which forms durable water-repellent release films. These films have much better affinity than is attainable with polydimethylsiloxanes and many organomodified
silicone fluids of comparable viscosity. SiMR-1912C serves as a component in polish and release agent formulations.

How to use
When used as a release agent:

The recommended dilution range is 10-40 times. Apply to mold surface by brush, pad or spray gun. The frequency is based on the complexity of the mold and the molding material (usually every 1 to 6 re-sprays of release agent). Before use, a trial is recommended for optimum dosage. Before using this product, the mold surface should be cleaned. This product forms a very thin film after application, which can achieve the best release characteristics. A thicker film cannot improve the release effect and may even cause adhesion. Uneven dispersion or incomplete surface wetting may also cause difficulty in demolding. In this case, the release material can be wiped away until a thin, dry film is obtained. After application, allow the mold surface to dry until it is completely free of thinner. Solvents used to dilute SiMR-1912C may be flammable, so care must be taken when applying dilute solutions to hot surfaces. Although not critical, heat curing helps improve the release and urability of the release film. It is recommended to heat the mold at ≥100°C for 5-10 minutes. In some cases, the silicone release film formed by SiMR-1912C can interfere with the painting and bonding of molded parts. If surface coating or bonding is involved, the effects of this product should be fully tested before use.

As an ingredient in car polishes:

SiMR-1912C provides good gloss, water resistance, detergent resistance and durability while maintaining good ease of application and erasure properties. Adding a small amount of amino silicone(SNY-290) to SiMR-1912C or compounding it with various organic waxes can improve its durability. SiMR-1912C is used in automotive polishes at levels of 1-5% by weight. The optimal amount of this product in a specific polish formulation should be determined by user testing.
